This only saves jpg, png and gif format images, all suitable for the internet. Gif is not good for photographs as it only supports 256 colors. Also sometimes, gif files are larger than jpg photos. How do you change the picture format with a Cox HD Cable Box?

Hi, I want to change the format output of my cox HD cable from 1080i to 480p because I have a 4:3 HDTV and 1080i squishes the image to 4:3 to fit the screen. Does any one know how to change it?|||The initial set up you referred to can be accessed by doing the following:

Unplug your set-top from the wall and then plug it back up. It will take a couple of minutes for it to boot up. You will know when it is fully booted when the clock is displayed. Press the power key and turn on the set-top. On the front of the set-top press and hold the Select button until the Message light blinks (it looks like a blinking envelope). Then press the Vol 鈥?key to indicate that you want to select a picture format setting. The LED display shows HdSr to indicate that the set-top is in the Picture Format mode for HDTV settings. Press CH+ and the 480i setting will be briefly displayed and the Set will be shown. Press VOL 鈥?to set it to 720p, CH- to set it to 480p, and VOL+ 1080.

You can also use the picture format setup wizard to change the format also. Make sure that the set-top is off and the TV is on. Press the Guide and Info key on the front of the set-top at the same time. This will launch the picture setup wizard. This will probably be the easiest to way to change your picture settings.

Here are two ways that you can change the picture format while you are watching TV.

If you have a # sign on your remote. You can press this key to toggle through the picture size options (Normal, Stretch, and Zoom)

If you do not have a # sign on your remote, you can press the Settings button on your remote to access the Quick Settings menu. Scroll to Picture Format or Picture Size. You can select the picture size and format from here.

Good Luck

right click on an empty part your desktop

left click on properties

display properties box will come on

left click on settings

now use the screen resolution slider to pick the correct one for you

on mine it is 1280 by 768 pixels to make things normal on my new flat screen monitor

try different settings till you are happy

just make a note of what it is before you alter anything

then you can always put it back to what it was

How do I change the picture format from jpeg to jpg once it is already downloaded onto the computer?

JPEG and JPG are basically the same file format. It probably won%26#039;t make a difference whether you try making it change to JPG, but if you really want to, you could just rename it from %26quot;filename.jpeg%26quot; to %26quot;filename.jpg%26quot;. If you want to be safe, you could always make a copy of the file and change the extension of the copy to %26quot;.jpg%26quot;|||tell the computer to display file extensions and delete the %26#039;e%26#039; in the extension. otherwise, open it and save it as jpg.|||you don%26#039;t need to change the picture format, just change the name (rename).|||jpeg and jpg is the same format, just with different file name extensions. Just rename the file, but make sure you turn on windows file option to show file name extensions.|||Extremely easy to do. Just use Window%26#039;s Explorer to rename the file extension. You will get a warning about the danger of changing file extensions but in this case you can safely ignore the warning.

Changing the Recording Format Right after Shooting

* The JPEG format image will not be saved.

Right after shooting, press the %26lt;FUNC.%26gt; button while the image is displayed on the LCD monitor.

Select [OK] using the or arrow on the omni selector and press the %26lt;SET%26gt; button.

The image is recorded in the RAW format.

When you press the shutter button halfway, the camera returns to the shooting screen.

The above operations cannot be performed if the image was shot with the digital zoom or when is already selected as the recording format.|||Your most welcome, I had the canon site bookmarked because one of my camera%26#039;s is a canon. They are great products.
