How do I change my avatar to a picture on Yahoo Answers?

I found this really cool picture of the Plain White T's but I can't figure out how to upload it as my new avatar on Yahoo Answers. It says that it needs to be saved as a .PNG format, so I add .PNG to the end of it and hit upload, but it won't work. Computer geniuses, help me out here please! Thanks.

i believe if you open it in paint or a similar program, you could save it as a .jpg if you just use the 'save as' option.

You can even do this in Windows paint program. Open the BMP file in your chosen photo editing software. Then just hit %26quot;Save As%26quot; and set the extension (by way of the drop-down box) to JPEG or JPG. Some %26quot;bigger%26quot; photo editing packages may want you to %26quot;Export%26quot; to this format. Both of these options are available through the FILE button at the top left corner of the application window.

just edit the filename to say xxxxxxx.jpg instead of xxxxxxx.bmp

You dont need any software for this
Try the simple Paint, which comes with Windows.

Open the file with Paint, and click on Save As in the File menu.

Change the format to jpg. Simple!
Open it in a picture editor and go to File, then to Save As. Type in the filename, followed by .jpg, or just the filename, and select jpeg image from teh dropdown menu below that.
assumuing your running in a windows (not a mac or something) open up the folder with the file, right chick on the file, go over to %26quot;open with%26quot; and click on paint. in paint, go to save as, and select the JPEG format. click ok, and your done! make sure you now try to upload the right one...





also if you dont like the way the .jpg file turned out, you can try .gif
You should see the FILE TYPE selection when you use SAVE AS. Just pick JPG from the list.



I believe that Dell picture studio should do the trick for you.



I use and prefer Paint Shop Pro. It is ideal for web work, and much cheaper than Photoshop, which other people BRAG about.
um get a photobucket id and save the pic to ur computer and then on ur photobucket press browse den ur pics will come up then u choose the picture and then itll upload onto the photobucket once ur done the url and 2 more stuff will come up and u copy and paste it into ur website (i bet its myspace) and ur all set hope that helped www.photobucket.com
There's a very cool (%26amp; Free!) program called %26quot;Irfanview%26quot; that will reformat any graphic to what you want. I've never seen %26quot;b.m.p.%26quot; though---you could rename it to jpeg %26amp; see what it does (eg: %26quot;tree.bmp%26quot; change to %26quot;tree.jpeg%26quot;)
You can do it with your paint program on your computer.....Its that easy!!
the easiest way is to change the extension manually. just right click on the picture, go to rename. if you picture was named pic.bmp...change it to read picture.jpg. if you can't see the .bmp at the end of the picture and it changes your picture name to picture.jpg.bmp then you'll have to go to tools%26gt;folder options click on the %26quot;view%26quot; tab and uncheck the box that says hide extensions for known file types. then you're in business. that's it.

Okay, so I just got my HP G60-125NR laptop, it all works good, but It came with vista and Im unfamiliar with vista and it had the Windows Photo Gallery installed, so I decided to do some tweaking with pictures that I had on my memory card, so after I edited these pictures I put the memory stick back into my Nikon D80 and my camera is saying the files that I edited do not exist, or that the camera cannot read them, and I did not change the picture format either. So my question is how can I edit these pictures but yet have them visible on my camera?

Are your edited photos still on your computer, usually when you download photos the photos are on your computer and when you edit, the edited pics are on your computer.

Maybe the files are not transferred in your d80 maybe it's still saved in your pc.

How can I change bitmap images (simultaneously) into JPEG format?

I am currently updating our website and I cannot upload it to yahoo photos simply because the pictures are in bitmap images. How can I change it to JPEG format? Is it also possible to change all my bitmap images simultaneously into JPEG format (since I have more than 300++ photos scanned BUT did not notice that all these were saved as bitmap)? It would be very laborous if I woulddo it one by one. I am running a Windows XP program. I also need (as much as possible) a step by step procedure. I can spare time doing it via webcam chat though. How do you change a movie's format?

I have recorded stuff on tv to a dvd, then I just took the movie files and copied them to my harddrive. I don't want to use dvd ripping software because all the stuff I've tried ends up distorting the picture. These files are in the power Dvd format. I can't do anything with them while they're in this format except watch them with power dvd. Is there some kind of software or way of converting it to a more compatable format so I can play them with media player and stuff like that?

haha that's the thing with dvd's is that they are scrambled so you can't rip them but i would try a dvd decrypter
