During the Save for Web, in the window that opens, Quality is the result of jpg compression. The higher the Quality number the less the compression. Generally, a Quality number of about 40 will look very nice. You can also resize the image in this window. You must click Apply for the resize to happen. This only saves jpg, png and gif format images, all suitable for the internet. Gif is not good for photographs as it only supports 256 colors. Also sometimes, gif files are larger than jpg photos. Png is good but will probably be a larger file size. What you do in the Save for Web does not change anything in the image you are working with. You may want to save the open image as a psd file also.|||You need to do a File-.Save As and change the filetype to jpg.
