How do you change a picture's format?

im trying to change the format of a picture from bmp to jpg or gif. any help? thanks.|||Open it in a graphics program. Go to File, Save As, then pick a different type from the menu.

Paint.NET: http://www.getpaint.net/

GNU Image Manipulation Program: http://gimp.org/

IrfanView: http://www.irfanview.com/

Picasa: http://picasa.google.com/ (more for organising photos then editing them)

ImageMagick: http://imagemagick.org/ (command line and very sciptable, so great for making changes to lots of images at once, but has a relatively tough learning curve)|||open it in windows picture editor or just about any image editing app ... save-as whichever type u want ...|||Use adobe photoshop or if you don%26#039;t have one try something else that you have. Than when you go to File-%26gt;save as , under line where you put name of the file you will see save format or something like that.|||very easy. The simples way is to open up paint through start%26gt;prodrams%26gt;accessories%26gt;paint and then go to file%26gt;save as and then select save as file type jpeg or gif.|||download irfanview you cant get it from www.download.com it is free and you can convert your picture files to any format and you can also compress enlarge and do all kinds of stuff with your pics. hope you like it|||oopen it in any image editor like fireworks(macromedia), corel draw(adobe), MS Paint etc and then just click SAVE AS in file menu.. select the format you want to save it in.. njoy|||You can open it in an advanced image editing software. Click %26quot;save as...%26quot; and choose the image format from there. I usually use Photoshop for this purpose.

If photoshop is inaccessible to you, you can try using GIMP. It isn%26#039;t nearly as good, but for this purpose it would work just fine. You can download it at http://www.gimp.org/downloads/

I hope that helps. Good luck.
